Located in Central Baja, Mexico, Punta Santa Rosalillita is an excellent right-hand point break that serves up classic, long, peeling lines great for ripping into. This is a stop on most journeyer’s agenda, a true Baja classic. The waves here are challenging to surf and break for up to 200 meters over a rocky bottom. There’s good camping around, and the small fishing village has plans for expansion.
What are the best surf conditions for Punta Santa Rosalillita?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard or step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will get busy at peak times (5/10). The best winds are from the North. Needs a big West or Northwest swell to start working. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 20 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 15 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
