Located in Central Baja, Mexico, Puerto San Andres is a good right-hand point just up the sketchy road from Punta Rosalillta, serving up deep barrels. The waves here are challenging to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a rocky bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Puerto San Andres?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or step-up here. This spot is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Northwest and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 20 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 15 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
