Located in Central Baja, Mexico, Bahia Tortugas has a few breaks going both left and right, reefs, beaches, and a point are all found here. The waves here can be challenging and break usually for around 100 meters over rock bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Bahia Tortugas?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard on the mellower breaks, a shortboard or step-up on the more serious breaks. There are waves here for all levels of surfer. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South, Southwest, and West. Something will be working on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 20 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 15 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
