Located in Central Baja, Mexico, Punta Conoas is a quality right point (yes it’s Baja) that serves up rippable, punchy waves a good amount of the time. The waves here require a bit of skill to surf and break for up to 200 meters over a rock bottom. Check around for a few reefs nearby. Have a very good 4WD.
What are the best surf conditions for Punta Canoas?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 20 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 15 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
