Located in Central Baja, Mexico, El Socorro is a fun little river mouth that offers up some easier but fun waves for progressing surfers. The waves here are not hard to surf and break for up to 100 meters (328 feet) over a rock and sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for El Socorro?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will get crowded (7/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Southwest and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 31°C (88°F). In the winter, a 4/3 wetsuit is best as water temperatures plunge to 16°C (61°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
