Located in Central Baja, Mexico, San Miguel is an excellent rivermouth reef that offers up a fast right-hander, rippable when small and barreling when bigger. The waves here are not easy to surf and break for up to 200 meters over a rocky reef. Gets quite crowded, watch out for urchins as well.
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard or step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here usually has something to ride (5/10) and will be crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Northwest or West. Works best on a low to mid-tide.
