Located in Central Baja, Mexico, Punta Cono is an excellent right-hand point break that serves up ultra-rippable and barreling walls for those willing to make the trek. The waves here are challenging to surf and break for up to 200 meters over a rock bottom. This, like many other Baja spots, is quite remote. Take what you need and don’t get hurt.
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard or step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is somewhat consistent (6/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the North.
