What are the best surf conditions for Punta Mala?
Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard, and then a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. Water temperatures range between 27°C and 25°C (81°F to 77°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
