Located in Guayas and Manabi, Ecuador, Las Tunas is a good beach break that offers up some rippable peaks with a quarter of the crowd at Montañita. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters (328 feet) over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Las Tunas?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard and then a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here usually has something to ride (5/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on a low to mid-tide best.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. Water temperatures range between 27°C and 25°C (81°F to 77°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
