Located in Guayas and Manabi, Ecuador, FAE is an excellent left-hand reef break that offers up some rippable walls when the conditions line up. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters (328 feet) over a reef.
What are the best surf conditions for FAE?
Gets good between chest-high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard and then a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, South, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. Water temperatures range between 27°C and 25°C (81°F to 77°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
