Located on the Garden Route in South Africa, Glentana Beach is a decent beach break that offers up some heavy shore break barrels. The waves here are challenging to surf, better to bodyboard, and break for up to 50 meters (164 feet) over a rock and sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Glentana Beach?
It gets good between head-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard here if you want to surf it. This break is good for all levels of surfer. The surf here is super consistent (9/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the South. It works best on a mid to high tide.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in summer when water temperatures rise to 20°C (68°F). In the winter, a 3/2 might be best as temps drop to about 17°C (63°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
