Located on the Garden Route in South Africa, Diaz Beach is a decent beach break that offers up some fun peaks more often than not. The waves here can be challenging to surf and break for up to 100 meters (328 feet) over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Diaz Beach?
It gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is good for all levels of surfer. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the East and Southeast. It works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in summer when water temperatures rise to 20°C (68°F). In the winter, a 3/2 might be best as temps drop to about 17°C (63°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
