Located on the big island of Hawaii, Magics is a fun shore break that offers up some shallow sandbar tubes popular with bodyboarders and bodysurfers. The waves here are not easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. When big there might be a left-hander off the point, keep an eye out.
What are the best surf conditions for Magics?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or a step-up here. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is not the most consistent (5/10) and will generally have a crew on it (6/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year-round. Water temperatures range between 27 and 24. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
