Located on the Big Island of Hawaii, Honopue Bay is a fun reef break that offers up some big right-handers with powerful sections. The waves here are pretty heavy and break for up to 100 meters over a boulder-covered bottom.

What are the best surf conditions for Honopue Bay?

Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) and will be empty (1/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. The best swells are from the Northeast. Works on a mid-tide best.
