Certainly one of the best waves in the Maldives, this world class break is named after the Coca Cola factory situated on Thulusdhoo island. It is a hollow and tubular right-hander and the most photographed wave of the North Male Atoll. Small peaky days consist of back-dooring small A-frame barrels, exiting the barrel section with speed for one or two performance turns. As the swell size & period increases, the fun peaks turn to long workable walls to almond shaped barrels on the deepest take off point that throw out round stand up barrels through the middle & end section. When it gets bigger it’s recommended for surfers with advanced skills as waves get up to three meters, or close to triple overhead. The waves break for up to 200 meters over a coral reef, get out there and have fun!
What are the best surf conditions for Cokes?
Gets good between chest high d triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard or fish when a bit smaller and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the North, Northwest, or West. The best swells are from the South, Southeast, and Southwest. Works on a mid to low tide best.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year round as water temperatures fluctuate between 27 and 29. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
