Located in the Thaa and Laamu Atolls, Indian Ocean, Malik’s is a quality left hand reef break that can offer up left hand barrels when the conditions line up. The waves here can be challenging to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a coral reef.
What are the best surf conditions for Malik’s?
Gets good between waist high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) but will be empty (1/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year round as water temperatures range between 30 and 28. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
