Located in the Thaa and Laamu Atolls, Indian Ocean, Bedhuge is an excellent right hand reef break that offers up an amazing performance wall as well as some barrels when the conditions line up. The waves here can be challenging to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a coral reef. Needs a big swell to work, if Yin Yang hits about chest high it will start breaking here, but is best when big.
What are the best surf conditions for Bedhuge?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then step up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year round as water temperatures fluctuate between 27 and 29. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
