Located in Minho-Douro, Portugal, Perafita is a poor beach break that offers up some mushy sections for longboarding or beginners. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. No one surfs here due to bad pollution, touching the water here is not recommended.
What are the best surf conditions for Perafita?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard until the size picks up then a shortboard. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and there is never anyone out (1/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, South, Southwest, and West. Works on a low to mid-tide best.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 18 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temps drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
