Located in Minho-Douro, Portugal, Agucadoura is a fun beach break that offers up some consistent peaks great for hacks and carves. The waves here are pretty straightforward to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Agucadoura?
Gets good between waist-high to overhead, but does not hold much size. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and it is usually uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 18 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
