Located on the French side of the Channel, Sainte Adresse is a beach break that offers some decent walls for turns when the waves are on. The waves here can be challenging and break for up to 50 meters (164 feet) over a sand bottom. Watch out for poor water quality.
What are the best surf conditions for Sainte Adresse?
It gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when the waves are smaller and switching to a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfers. The surf here is pretty inconsistent (4/10) and can get quite busy when it does break (5/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the Northwest, West, and North. It works best on high tide.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 16°C (61°F). A 4/3 wetsuit is best in winter when water temperatures drop to 10°C (50°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
