Located on the French side of the Channel, Dielette offers a couple of spots with both hollow shorebreak and a rare reef. The waves here are pretty straightforward to surf and break for up to 50 meters (164 feet) over a sand bottom. The reef is a left but requires specific conditions that demand local knowledge to fully understand.
What are the best surf conditions for Dielette?
It gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when the size begins to step up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfers. The surf here sometimes has a wave (4/10) and can get quite crowded on weekends (5/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. It works on mid to high tides.
We recommend wearing a 4/3 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 16°C (61°F). The same suit will suffice in winter when water temperatures drop to 10°C (50°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
