Located in Rivas Province, Nicaragua, Tamarind is a pretty decent but section right point break that offers up short barrel opportunities when the conditions line up. The waves here can be challenging to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a rock and sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Tamarind?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard and then a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year round as water temperatures range between 29 and 27 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
