Located in Rivas Province, Nicaragua, El Yanke is a fun beach break with well-defined, performance-based peaks. The waves here can be challenging at times and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for El Yanke?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year round as water temperatures range between 29 and 27 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
