Located in Rivas Province, Nicaragua, Montelimar is a fun left-hand point break that offers up some rippable, but at times sluggish, walls. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a rock but mostly sand bottom. Need to be part of the all-inclusive resort to get access.
What are the best surf conditions for Montelimar?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here usually has something to ride (5/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Works on a mid to high tide on the push.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year round as water temperatures range between 29 and 27 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
