Located in Rivas Province, Nicaragua, Casares town has a few reef breaks offering up some rippable peaks when the swell is good. The waves here can be challenging to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a rock and sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Casares?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. These reefs are best suited to intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year round as water temperatures range between 29 and 27 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
