Located in Northwest Puerto Rico, Leeward Islands, Tres Palmas is an excellent right-hand point break that puts up long walls with both performance and barreling sections. The waves here can get very difficult to surf with size and break for up to 300 meters (984 feet) over a coral reef.
What are the best surf conditions for Tres Palmas?
Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard and then a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here usually has something to ride (5/10) and will get very crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northeast. Works on a low to mid-tide best.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. Water temperatures range between 29°C and 26°C (84°F to 79°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
