Located in Northwest Puerto Rico, Leeward Islands, Maria’s is an excellent, famed right-hand point/reef that offers up some of the longest, high-performance rides in Puerto Rico. Sections vary from manoeuvres to barrels for up to 500 meters over a coral reef. There can be a hard current over the reefs.
What are the best surf conditions for Maria’s?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard or a step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will get insanely crowded (9/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year-round. Water temperatures range between 29 and 26. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
