Located on the French side of the Channel, Vaucottes is a less impressive beach break that’s ideal for beginners or longboarders. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters (164 feet) over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Vaucottes?
It gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard at all times here. This break is suitable for all levels of surfers. The surf here does not break often (3/10) and usually has a small crew on it (6/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the North, Northeast, Northwest, and West. It works on low to mid tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 16°C (61°F). In winter, a 4/3 wetsuit is best when water temperatures drop to 10°C (50°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
