Located in Northern Baja, Mexico, Cabo Colonet is a fun right-point break that offers up some fickle but great barrels when the conditions line up. The waves here are not easy to surf and break for up to 200 meters over a rocky reef.
What are the best surf conditions for Cabo Colonet?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if small and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) and will get busy at peak times (5/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the South, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 31 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 16 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
