Located in Northern Baja, Mexico, Stacks is a fun reef break that offers up a powerful left and easier right, both can be hollow. The waves here are not easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a rock and sand bottom. Some urchins as well.
What are the best surf conditions for Stacks?
Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard or step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here usually has something on offer (5/10) and will get busy on holiday weekends (5/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Northwest and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 31 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best as water temperatures plunge to 16 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
