Located in Northern Baja, Mexico, Salsipuedes is an excellent right-hand point break that offers a heavy barrel when conditions line up. The waves here require your A-game to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a rock and sand bottom. Take care the name literally means “leave if you can”. The road down is notoriously impossible to get back up. Make sure your 4×4 is up to the task.
What are the best surf conditions for Salsipuedes?
Gets good between chest-high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard or step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will get very crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 31 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 16 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
