Located in Northern Baja, Mexico, Halfway House is a fun collection of beach breaks and reefs that offer up some rippable sections when the conditions line up. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over rock or sand bottoms. Worth the look if you are passing by, but can be a bit fickle.
What are the best surf conditions for Halfway House?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard or step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) and will be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest or West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 31 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best as water temperatures plunge to 16 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
