Located in Limon, Costa Rica, Manzanillo is a fun right-hand reef break, off a headland that offers up some rippable sections. The waves here can be challenging to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a coral reef.
What are the best surf conditions for Manzanillo?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard then step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and will be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. The best swells are from the East and Northeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year round. Water temperatures range between 29 and 28. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
