Located in Limon, Costa Rica, Isla Uvita is a small island with a good left reef break that offers up some good rippable walls. The waves here are challenging to surf and break for up to 150 meters over a coral reef.
What are the best surf conditions for Isla Uvita?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard or step-up when bigger. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and is generally uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. The best swells are from the East, Northeast, or Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year-round. Water temperatures range between 29 and 28. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
