Located in Limon, Costa Rica, Barco Quebrado is a fun river mouth that offers up some rippable peaks on the right swells. The waves here can be a bit challenging to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Barco Quebrados?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here usually has something to ride (5/10) and will be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. The best swells are from the East, Northeast, or Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year round as water temperatures range between 29 and 28. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
