Located in Central Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica, Playitas is a fun stretch of beach break that offers up some rippable waves for all levels of surfer. The waves here can be challenging and break for up to 100 meters over a sand or rock bottom. There is also an outer reef nearby, suitable for more advanced surfers.
What are the best surf conditions for Playitas?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard or a step-up when bigger. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is somewhat consistent (6/10) and will always have a crew on it (7/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South, Southwest, and West. Works on a mid to high tide best.
