Located a few kilometres North of Jaco, Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica, Herradura la Isla is a fun left-hand point break that offers up long rippable walls when the conditions line up. the waves here are challenging and break for up to 200 meters over a rock bottom. You’ll need a boat to access it. The beach nearby is best for beginners.

Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard then a step-up when it gets bigger. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here does not break often (3/10) and will be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Southwest and West and big. Works on a mid-tide best.
