Located in Central Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica, Playa Hermosa – Osa Peninsula is a quality stretch of beach break that picks up almost every bit of swell. Can be playful-hard barreling. The waves here can be challenging and will break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. The size will be bigger toward the Northern end. When firing it’s not a good spot for beginners, head south around the peninsula.
What are the best surf conditions for Playa Hermosa – Osa Peninsula?
Gets good between waist-high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard or a step-up as it gets bigger. This break is suitable for all levels of surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will usually have a crew (6/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swell is from the South, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
