Located in the West Coast District of South Africa, Wallekraal Point is a fun left-hand point break with alternating fast and slow sections as it bends around the point. Nice and powerful, good for ripping into. The waves here can be challenging and break for up to 400 meters (1312 feet) over a rock bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Wallekraal Point?
It gets good between chest-high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard and then a step up as the size picks up. This break is good for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here usually has something to ride (5/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the East and Northeast. The best swells are from the Southwest and West. It works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summers when water temperatures rise to 18°C (64°F). In the winter, a 4/3 is necessary as water temperatures drop to 15°C (59°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
