Located in the West Coast District of South Africa, Lambert’s Bay is a fun beach break that offers up some barrels over sandbars fed by a river mouth. The waves here can be challenging and break for up to 100 meters (328 ft) over a rock and sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Lambert’s Bay?
Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard and then a step up as the size picks up. This break is good for all levels of surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the Southwest and West. It works best on a low to mid-tide.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in summers when water temperatures rise to 18°C (64.4°F). In the winter, a 4/3 might be best as temps drop to about 15°C (59°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
