More on Suicide Reef
Located on the West Coast District of South Africa, you’ll find Suicide Reef. This is a bonafide big wave barreling peak, with a short, intense right that breaks onto dry rock and a longer somewhat more manageable left. The wave itself is remote and impossible to paddle over a certain size. Paddling will always be difficult anyway due to the heavy current and looming threat of sharks. The left will break for up to 200 meters (656 feet) while the right is closer to 100 meters (328 feet), both breaking over shallow or dry rock. This wave is for hellmen/women only, come prepared and with plenty of experience in the heaviest waves you can find.
