Located in Taghazout, Morocco, Dracula is an excellent right-hand reef that offers up a mean and thick barrel when the conditions line up. The waves here are dangerous and break over a very shallow rock reef for up to 100 meters (328 ft). Take care; this wave is notorious for scraping surfers with rocks and drawing plenty of blood.
What are the best surf conditions for Dracula?
Dracula gets good between chest-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or stepping up as the size picks up. This break is good for intermediate if you’re feeling lucky and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will attract a crew at peak times (5/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Northwest. Works best on a mid-tide.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in the summers when water temps rise to 21°C (69.8°F). In the winters, a 3/2 is best as water temps drop to 18°C (64.4°F). See our temperature chart below for more data on this.
