Located in Santa Catarina, Brazil, Morro das Pedras is a fun right-hand reef set-up that offers up some rippable walls when the conditions line up. The waves here require a bit of skill to surf and break for up to 100 meters (328 feet) over a rock and sand bottom. There is some good beach break to the north.
What are the best surf conditions for Morro das Pedras?
It gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard, then a step up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will always have a crew (7/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the South and Southeast. It works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 26°C (79°F). In the winter, a 3/2 wetsuit is best when water temperatures drop to 19°C (66°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
