Located in Santa Catarina, Brazil, Campeche is an excellent right-hand reef break that offers up some long barreling walls if it does break. The waves here are challenging to surf and break for up to 200 meters over a rock and sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Campeche?
It gets good between head-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard, and then a step up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here does not break often (2/10) and will usually have a crew (6/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the South but need to be massive. It works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 26°C (79°F). In the winter, a 3/2 wetsuit is best when water temperatures drop to 19°C (66°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
