Located on the South Shore of Oahu, Barbers Point is a quality reef break that offers up some nice left-handers on South swells and more broken-up peaks on wrapping North swells. The waves here can be a bit tricky to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a coral reef. The entrance/exit is a bit rough as there are a bunch of rocks strewn about.
What are the best surf conditions for Barber’s Point?
Gets good between waist-high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or a step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is consistent (6/10) and will get busy at times (5/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, South, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year round as water temperatures range between 27 and 24. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
