Located on the South Shore of Oahu, Maili Point is a good reef set-up that offers up supersonic left-hand barrels when the conditions line up. The waves here are challenging to surf and break over a shallow coral reef for up to 200 meters. The currents are strong, cleanup sets are regular, and sharks are known the patrol the lineup. There are less intimidating waves to the North.
Gets good between chest-high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or a step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers.
