Located in Brevard County, East Florida, Canova Beach is a mediocre beachie that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here are pretty straightforward to surf and break for up to 50 meters providing some fun sections for manoeuvres.
What are the best surf conditions for Canova Beach?
Gets good from waist-high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. Canova Beach is suitable for all levels of surfers, but the take-offs can be a bit steep. The surf here sometimes has a wave (4/10) and is generally not super crowded (6/10), but locals can be grumpy. The best winds come from the West. The best swells come from the Northeast. Works best on a lower to mid-tide.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 29 degrees. In winter a springsuit is all that is necessary when water temperatures drop to 21 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
