Located in Brevard County Eastern Florida, Melbourne Beach is a fun beach set-up that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters providing some fun sections for manoeuvres. Lots of crowds here as a large portion of the East Coast surf industry is located here.
What are the best surf conditions for Melbourne Beach?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. Melbourne Beach is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and can get quite crowded most days (8/10). The best winds are from the West. the best swells are from the East, North, Northeast, and Southeast. Best on a mid to low tide.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 29 degrees. In the winter a springsuit is all you need in the 21-degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
