Truly legendary and mysto, One Palm awaits for those looking for the ultimate in remote surf and thrill. This left point breaks name predictably comes from a landmark solitary palm tree. As are many waves in Java, the entire wave is very shallow here. It barrels perfectly from the outside to the inside across coral reef. The takeoffs are late and barrels super tight, making it a difficult place for regular footers going backside.
So named because there used to be one solitary palm tree on the tip of the point, sadly that’s long gone and some now refer to this spot as No Palm Point. The wave is still most definitely firing on all cylinders. It’s a long and sucky left-hand barrel that lays claim to a lot of surfers best tube time ever and most memorable waves, definitely not one for barrel dodgers!! It’s a pretty dangerous wave too to so don’t get star struck and throw yourself in with reckless abandon, it is in a remote area and accidents are best avoided. The reef is super close and super sharp.
