Located in Panaitan Island, Java, Indonesia, Apocalypse is a world class right hand reef break that offers up massive, stand up barrels when the conditions line up. The waves here are very difficult to surf and break for up to 200 meters over a coral reef. The entrance is super steep and the barrel kegs immediately, it looks makeable from a boat but only a percentage of the waves are actually are.
What are the best surf conditions for Apocalypse?
Gets good between overhead and triple overhead. We recommend riding a step up or gun here when it is working. This break is suitable for advanced level surfers. The surf here is a bit fickle (4/10) and will be uncrowded (2/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Works on a mid tide.
